A training day for the students of faculty of science, this in the frame activating the activities the program of continuous development and qualifying for approval

 Under the patronage of the program of student attitudes modification, faculty of science organized a training day towards activating the activities of the program of continuous development and qualifying for approval on Thursday dated 1/3/2012, Mr.Ahmed el-Badry, a researcher assistant at botany department attended the training.

As questionnaires were distributed on the students which include many axes:

1-How far the students know the skills of the scientific research.

2- How far the students know the administrative sides inside the university.

3- How far the students know the skills of assessment.

4- How far the students know the skills of leadership

5- How far the students know the skills of self-learning

6- How far the students know the development of the educational process.

7- How far the students know the culture of the educational quality.

The resolutions of faculty of science, number 370

 Under the presidency of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science, Doctor Essayed Abd el-Khalek Mohamed, a lecturer at mathematics department, was granted the scientific title of an assistant professor, by the resolutions number 370 dated 14/2/2012 and granting the Marwa Mohamed Farghaley, an assistant lecturer, the PHD degree.

The strategy of teaching and learning methods was approved after executing the revision and updating according to the external revision report of the quality assurance authority.

A work shop for discussing the intellectual property and the strategic planning at faculty of science

 Faculty of science organized a workshop under the title" the intellectual property and the strategic planning", a number of the staff members , their assistants , the seniors  and the students of post graduate studies attended the workshop at the seminar hall.

Professor Doctor Ahmed Aziz, the deputy of the faculty for environment development and society service affairs, Professor Doctor Ahmed Hasaneen, the manger of the unity of human sources management and the strategic planning and Professor Doctor Osman el-Maghraby, the manger of the unity of credibility and intellectual property all of them gave the lecture.

The seminar included many axes such as the vision of the faculty which is to be a pioneer in the education fields, scientific research and serving the international, national and regional society, the mission of the faculty which is preparing a distinguished graduate in the applied and fundamental science to cope with the labor market and there are some other aims and strategic plans such as improving the quality of the sources of teaching and education and the methods of assessment.

A scientific trip for the students of geology department

 Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Abd el-Hameed el-Shatir Abd el-Hameed, the head of geology department at faculty of science, a scientific trip to the eastern desert at the red sea for the third and fourth year students will be executed starting from Saturday dated 10/3/2012 till Thursday 15/3/2012.

A seminar on next Sunday about the political terms and the psychological guidance after the revolution of January 25

 Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science and Professor Doctor Ahmed Aziz Abd el-Minim, the deputy of the faculty for environment development and society service affairs, faculty of science invites its students to attend a seminar about" the political terms and the psychological guidance after the revolution of January 25".

As Professor Doctor Ahmed Mohamed Hasaneen, a professor at faculty of science and Doctor Mohamed Ihab, a professor at faculty of medicine will give the lecture, this will be on next Sunday dated 4/3/2012 in the seminar hall.

Presenting the research plan at geology department

 A research plan presented from Mr. Ahmed Eid Ahmed Radwan under the title" at geology department" Petrophysical evaluation for Sidri and Baba members within Belayim Formation in the region of Badri field, Gulf of Suez, Egypt".

This was under the supervision of Professor Doctor Hussein Mohamed el-Khashab, a professor of geophysics at geology department and Doctor Mohamed Mohsin, an assistant professor of geophysics at geology department.

The discussion of a master degree at faculty of science

The master degree presented from the researcher Ahmed Mohamed Ali, was discussed under the title "Genetics and biochemical studies on Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains isolated from patients belong to different regions in Egypt" on Thursday  dated 23-2-2-2012.

The judging committee consisted of:

Professor Doctor Ahmed Mohamed Abd el-Wahab, a professor of bacteriology at Assuit University, Professor Doctor Osama Mohamed Abd el-Raouf, professor of bacteriology at Al-Azhar University and the assistant professor Sayed Mohamed Sultan an assistant professor of bacteriology at Sohag university.

The participation of faculty of science in the scientific conference which South valley University, Aswan branch, organizes

           Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Lofty Hammed Abu el-Dahb, a vice president of the university for researches and post graduate studies and Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science, the faculty participates in the scientific conference which South valley University, Aswan branch, organizes under the title "The role of the scientific research in developing and enhancing the creation in all fields of life", this will be on Thursday dated 29/3/2012.

The conference of the nuclear energy, in the past, present and future, at the university

 Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science and Professor Doctor Ahmed Aziz, the deputy of the faculty for the environment service and society affairs, the faculty organizes a scientific conference under the title" The conference of the nuclear energy, in the past, present and future" on Thursday dated 7/3/2012.

As Professor Doctor Ibrahim Ali el-Isery, the greatest nuclear inspectors at the international agency for atomic energy, Professor Doctor Mohamed Munir Megahd, a former vice president of the nuclear stations authority, Engineer Ibrahim Ali el-Shahawy, an executive vice of the manger of the projects and the engineer Ibrahim Ali Awad at the studies sector. 

The discussion of a master degree at faculty of science next Thursday

Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science and Professor Doctor Ahmed Mohamed Abd el-Reheem, the head pf botany department, the researcher Ahmed Mohamed Ali will present his master to be discussed, under the title" Genetics and biochemical studies on Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains isolated from patients belong to different regions in Egypt, on Next Thursday dated 23/2/2012 and a number of professors will judge this thesis, namely:

1- Professor Doctor Ahmed Mohamed Abd el-Wahab,a     professor of bacteriology at faculty of science, Assuit University ( an external examiner).

2-Professor Doctor Osama Mohamed Abd el-Raaoof, a professor of bacteriology at faculty of science, Elazhr University (an external examiner).

Training courses in cooperation with the institutes of the civil society for the students of faculty of science

 Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science and Professor Doctor Ahmed Aziz, the deputy of the faculty for society service and environment affairs and in the frame of connecting with the institutes of the civil society and activating the role of faculty of science, faculty of science in cooperation with some field companies as iron and steel company train the students of geology department.

This will be during the months of August and September.

The faculty also cooperates with Universal Company of manufacturing card board and paper products to train the seniors of chemistry department.    

A workshop under the title the intellectual property and the strategic planning at faculty of science

 Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayed el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science, the faculty holds a workshop under the title' intellectual property and the strategic planning at faculty of science' and this for staff members, their assistants, the seniors and the students of the post graduate studies.

The workshop will be on next Wednesday dated 29/2/2012 at 12.30 in the seminar hall.

An announcement for the students of the post graduate studies at faculty of science

Under the supervision of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary,the dean of faculty of science and Professor Doctor Basma Ahmed Ramdan,the deputy of the faculty for the researches and the post graduate studies affairs, the mechanism of following up the registered students, in the post graduate studies and working on solving their problems, was assigned:

1-The problems of the students are discussed through the academic guide.

2-Doing a model for following up the student.

3- Doing complaints and the suggestions box, as it would allow the student to present their problems and discussing them.

4-Following the open door policy

5- The periodic reports from the members of the supervision committee.

The strategies of teaching and learning at faculty of science

Under the patronage of Professor Doctor Fayez el-Hosary, the dean of faculty of science, in the frame of completing the criteria of the national authority for the approval and the quality assurance, faculty of science organizes a work shop under the tilte"the strategies of learning and teaching", which will be on next Saturday dated 18/2/2012 in the faculty council hall at 12.30 pm.

Discussing a PHD degree at botany department faculty of science

The PHD which is presented from the researcher Marwa Mohamed Farghaly, an assistant lecturer at botany department, has been discussed and it was under the title" Study of bio degrative ability of some bacteria isolated from Sohag soil on the insecticide (lannate).

The discussion was on Thursday dated 26/1/2012 at the seminar hall.

The judgment committee consisted of:

Professor Doctor Osama Mohamed Abd el-Raoof, a professor of bacteria at Assuit University.

Professor Doctor Mohamed Fadel Sleeman, a professor of microbiology and sotkiology at the national centre of researches.

Professor Doctor Ahmed Mohamed Abd el-Motelb, a professor of botany physiology at faculty of science Sohag university.

The researcher reached, through the studying, to some suggestions such as preventing and prohibiting the sale of the pesticide (lannate) and stop importing it, because of the danger of its influences.

A seminar for developing the skills of the students

Life makers group at faculty of science organized a seminar on Sunday 18/12/2011, as it hosted Mr.Abd El-Reheem Mahmoud, a trainer of human development at the science academy for training and consulting in Sohag.

The meeting started with defining life makers group themselves, their activities, their projects, and their aim which is instilling the values of success in the participants, moves their potential energies and directs them towards the development of the society.

He spoke during the seminar about the secrets of success and the reasons of failure, illustrating the importance of the continuous improvement for the self, achieving success in the society, concentrating on the importance competition, participating and helping others.

This was under the leadership of Professor Nagwa Mohamed El-Saoy, a professor of biological chemistry and a decision maker of the group and doctor Mohamed Shaker, a pioneer of the group.

Moreover a number of the students attended the seminar.   

Treating and purifying water in North Africa with the Central German authority for the environmental technology

Chemistry department at faculty of science  organized a seminar dated 27/12/2012 under the title Treating and purifying water in North Africa, the aim of the seminar was strengthening  the cooperation between the Egyptian and  the German side and also conducting researches which imitates the problems of society .

Many problems related to water in South Africa were discussed and these problems also were linked to many of the social and academic parts in the area. In this seminar the issue of finding a manner for treating water using modern technological methods was discussed also, as the researcher Anne Beker, the manager of the workshop, presented a research in which the problem of water in the Sudan desert was discussed and she also spoke about finding a manner for the removal of the pharmaceuticals from water and treating it using the modern methods. 

This was with the attendance of Professor Nabil Nour El-Deen vice president and acting the president of the university, professor Lotfy Hamed Abo El-Dahb vice president of the University for researches and postgraduate affairs, professor Fayez Ali El-Hosry dean of faculty of science and a number of the staff and researchers at faculty of science.
